The Gummi type FM element was originally designed primarily for marine applications for use on reverse reduction gears.

In addition to all the benefits of having an integral rim / tube construction, the FM element utilizes ventilated friction shoes for enhanced heat dissipation. This also allows for controlled slippage to enhance forward and reverse maneuverability of the vessel. Rim registration provides for dual and triple element assemblies. The type FM element is available in 5 sizes, in single, dual, triple and split configurations. Interchangable with the Airflex® CM (Marine)
